Large Munsterlander Rescue was formed by Rae Massey in Doncaster in 1980, as part of the Large Munsterlander Club, when it became clear that there was a need to help those dogs that were, for one reason or another, needing to be found new homes. Rae set up some kennelling facilities at her home.
Rescue became independent from the L.M. Club in 1999, after an agreement by the membership decided that Rescue could be responsible for its own fund raising and administration. Rae is Co-ordinator for Rescue, and with a committee of six, makes the day to day decisions.
Since late in 1999 we have put together a group of countrywide Friends and Supporters, and the first edition of our rescue magazine, F.O.R.U.M. (Friends of Rescued and Unwanted Munsterlanders) was issued.
